Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
