19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former mentor Cervara.
Now training with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks the player's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since March of that year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.
His retrieving strategy and recurring outbursts on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an better service.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged break points in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet saved four early break points in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, he clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
