The Gaming Giant Hires Popular Battle Royale Developer to Boost Challenged Action Game Ambitious Title

2K Games has welcomed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to oversee the studio crew at 31st Union, which is currently working on the forthcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as this innovative game.

Leadership Shift Follows Lukewarm Response

Brinkman takes on the leadership position at the development studio following the departure of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to the game's underwhelming unveiling last autumn.

Recently, 2K president a key figure updated staff about this decision through an internal memo, which emphasized that playtesting had shown the necessity for a more defined direction.

Ismailer stated that the developers is now overhauling the project with a revised vision, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.

A Pattern of Strategic Recruitment

This announcement echoes a comparable action taken by 2K Games in August, when they hired Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to work on the BioShock development group.

Below is the entire text from the president's memo:

Hello Everyone—

I understand you all just wrapped up your gathering - I hope you’re as excited as I am with the positive developments. Previously I sent you all a message, I expressed the following: “I am confident in this team. You all are some of the most dedicated and talented creators we have had the opportunity to partner with - and we’re eager for that collaboration to persist.”

With your dedication and adaptability, especially over the past twelve months, you continue to prove that.

The gamer responses from last autumn’s Project ETHOS demo was enlightening. It confirmed the appeal of a roguelike shooter but made clear we still had work to do. It highlighted the need for a clearer vision.

It has been motivating to see how far you’ve come. You took the feedback to heart and revamped Project ETHOS with a renewed vision - one that’s ready to fulfill its ambition to our fans.

The trust in this project increases every day. To boost the outstanding advancement you’ve made, It is a pleasure to introduce the new hire as the new Director of 31st Union. Following several months of discussions, Ben comes aboard us on the specified date.

Ben’s management and expertise in the competitive gaming space is extensive, having devoted the past decade and a half producing and leading some of the most popular series in gaming, including the acclaimed shooter, and more recently, the battle royale hit.

Please join me in welcoming him next week. We are all looking forward to keep witnessing the evolution of the game in the time to follow.
